We have been around since 1984 (when we were Ian Brown EDV Beratung working for IBM in Germany) and we re-branded as BlackApple in 1995. We've done a lot of different things in over 25 years - most of them in IT and Consulting and mostly in three areas:
- Finance
- Supply Chain
- Enterprise Web-based Systems (ERP, CRM and Collaboration)
That doesn't mean we haven't done ANYTHING else (25 years is a long time in IT) but that covers the stuff we are interested in.
The sort of areas we get involved in are:
- Design/Consulting
- Process and Change
- Project and Programme Management
- Project Rescue
- Development Management and Testing
- Product Selection and Vendor Management
- Interim Management
"so pretty much everything in IT" I hear you say. Well I did say we'd been doing it a long time and to be fair we don't do hardware (anymore) and we don't cut code (any more).
Throughout the process of managing people and projects we've became increasingly interested in why people (often) behave counter to what seems to make sense. We came to realise that behaviours don't need to make logical sense they only need to make psychological sense and that psychology has a huge role to play in understanding why some people and businesses suceed and others fail as a result of cognitive errors made by individuals and even whole teams and organisations.
This interest has lead us to study psychotherapeutic methods (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, NLP and Hypno-psychotherapy) to study how some of these cognitive errors can be uncovered leading to the possibility of improvement and change.
Call us to discuss personal or business level change.
